Abstract
Culture media in which Turbatrix aceti (Müller 1873) Peters 1927 can be cultivated under bacteriologically sterile conditions have been described in the past. The author has unsuccessfully attempted to confirm these findings, but has succeeded in culturing T. aceti with continued growth and reproduction for more than a year in sterile conditions by serial sub-culture. Two types of media, similar to those previously used for another free-living nematode, Caenorhabditis briggsae (Dougherty & Nigon 1949) Dougherty 1953, were successfully employed. The preparation and use of these media are described.
