Abstract

When a greenhouse population of Race B. Mayetiola destructor (Say) was flooded with the Great Plains race in ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, 9:1, and 19:1, the rate of growth of Race B was suppressed by releases with 1:1, 2:1, and 4:1 compared with the release of Race B alone (0:1). Control of the population of Race B was achieved by making 4 releases at a ratio of 9:1 or 2 releases at a ratio of 19:1.
