Abstract
Descriptions and keys for identification are given for the Braconidae which attack the gypsy moth. This includes the following 13 species, some of which have been studied in the past and others which are being propagated for possible release in the United States: Apantelesflavicoxis, n. sp. (fromLymantria obfuscata Walker in India), A. indiensis, n. sp. (fromL. dispar (L.) and L. obfuscata in India), A. lacteicolor Viereck, A. liparidis (Bouche), A. lymantriae, n. sp. (from L. dispar in Japan), A. melanoscelus (Ratzeburg), A. ocneriae Ivanov, A. porthetriae Muesebeck, A. schaeferi, n. sp. (fromL. dispar in Japan), Meteorus pulchricornis (Wesmael), M. versicolor (Wesmael), Rogas indiscretus Reardon, and/?, lymantriae Watanabe. Notes on distribution and host range for each species and references to relevant literature are given. Comments are made on a few additional species from the literature which are of doubtful association with the gypsy moth. Meteorus japonicus Ashmead and M. nipponensis Viereck are synonymized with M. pulchricornis.
