Abstract

A new species of Tetrastichus occurring in Asphondylia spp. (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) galls on saltbush, Atriplex spp. (Chenopodiaceae), feeds and develops on altered plant tissues derived from midge-gall tissue, only incidentally killing the gall midge. This gall within a gall (endogall) is comprised of midge-gall parenchyma that has been mitotically activated.
