Abstract

Adults and third to fifth instars of Chelysomidea guttata (Herrich-Schaeffer) were collected from Croton capitatus Michaux and C. glandulosus L. in Choctaw County, Ala., and Covington County, Miss., in September 1982, and adults and second instars from C. capitatus in Covington, Simpson, and Rankin counties, Miss., in August 1983. The 1983 adults were maintained and instars were reared on cuttings of C. capitatus in the laboratory at 25.0 ± 1°C, a 12:12 (L:D) photoperiod, and ambient humidity. These animals were used to establish a laboratory culture for rearing data from which immatures were selected for descriptions.
