Abstract

The laboratory life history from egg to adult is presented for Corethrella appendiculata Grabham, C. brakeleyi (Coquillett), and C. wirthi Stone. The average number of days required for a complete life cycle was 33 for C. appendiculata, 30 for C. brakeleyi, and 28 for C. wirthi. Degree of attraction of calls of eight species of anurans to female C. brakeleyi and C. wirthi was determined. Calls of the barking treefrog (Hyla gratiosa) were most attractive, and calls of the green treefrog (H. cinerea) least attractive.
