Abstract
For the non-orientable compact surface of genus 3 all the possible (discontinuous) groups of its symmetries will be given. In this first part of the paper the 8 hexagonal fundamental domains have been discussed for determining the maximal symmetry groups in a combinatorial way. The computer classification of the 65 unfoldings of the -3-surface in the former work [15] by the author will be the basic tool.
