Abstract
A simplified, effective technique for lateral tarsorrhaphy to protect the cornea can provide symptomatic relief from corneal exposure secondary to facial palsy. This technique is especially useful in patients with cerebropontine angle tumors who have reduced eyelid closure and reduced tear production from effects on the parasympathetic fibers. The technique is designed to reduce corneal exposure with a reasonable cosmetic appearance and to allow for subsequent separation of the tarsorrhaphy.
