Abstract

The Forest Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture is cooperating with state forestry and extension agencies in furnishing technical service to farmers to help get war-needed forest products out of the woods, market them in a businesslike way at fair prices, and leave the woods in good growing condition. Projects are located in critical cutting areas and are proving highly successful both in augmenting the supply of forest products for war purposes and in promoting improved methods of forest management.
