Abstract

As improved forest techniques have become more widely adopted in the East, the need for more careful appraisals of standing timber have become increasingly apparent. Such appraisals require information on the lumber grade recovery of various species, which is still localized and completely lacking for large areas. The Ozarks of northern Arkansas are a case in point. This article presents the results of a study of the subject in the White River country.
