Abstract
Statistical methods are important to the timber cruiser but they are not well understood by him. The statistician has not yet developed a working tool to determine intensity of cruise that has been widely accepted and used. The authors' chart, Figure 1, attempts to fill this need. For accuracies differing from the chart, Table 1 or the simplified formulae for determining the required number of fifth-acre plots may be used.
