Abstract
Increasing use of second-growth Douglas-fir focuses interest on the physical properties of such wood in relation to those of old-growth timber. Test data are presented on specific gravity, modulus of rupture, and modulus of elasticity of wood samples sawn from various heights and radial zones from three sample second-growth trees grown on Sites II, III, and IV.
