Abstract

Graphic solutions to the design of a centerline location for forest roads and the determination of proper culvert lengths for use under forest roads are presented. Construction and rise of the two road design aids are explained in detail. The aids are easily constructed to standards of road design used in any geographical area. Information easily obtained in the preliminary route survey is used in conjunction with the aids to produce the required information for an adequate design and location of a majority of forest roads.
