Abstract

Triflouroacetic acid efficiently catalyzed the Friedländer synthesis of quinolines through a condensation reaction of an 2-aminoaryl ketone with an activated α-CH acid such as cyclic or acyclic β-dicarbonyl or cyclic ketone compounds under solvent-free conditions with high yields within several minutes.
