Abstract
Three ion-pair Ln-Cr complexes [Sm(DMA)4(H2O)3][Cr(CN)6] · 2H2O, [Gd(DMA)3(H2O)4] [Cr(CN)6] · 2H2O and [Er(DMA)3(H2O)4][Cr(CN)6] (DMA = dimethylacetamide) have been synthesized. X-ray structure analyses of the title complexes revealed that there is a hydrogen-bonding network through CN groups and H2O molecules. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibilities indicate weak antiferromagnetic interactions between cation and anion pairs moderated through the hydrogen bonding network.
