Abstract

Each Viking Lander measured a topographic profile during entry. Comparing to MOLA, we find a vertical offset of 1–2 km in the Viking trajectory. Hence, Viking atmospheric densities and pressures at a given altitude are 10–20% too large. © 2002 Elsevier Science (USA).
