Abstract

Measurements of excess enthalpies at T=298.15 K are reported for binary mixtures of (2-ethoxyethanol+n-octane, or cyclohexane, or benzene). The excess enthalpies of all these systems were found to be positive. The (2-ethoxyethanol+benzene) system shows asymmetric behaviour of HmE with respect to the mole fraction of 2-ethoxyethanol. However, the other two systems show nearly symmetric behaviour. This asymmetric behaviour of HmE for the system containing benzene is discussed.
