Abstract
For two liquid films adsorbed onto two flat substrates, at distances below some threshold, sudden formation of a liquid bridge between the two substrates occurs that should be observed by various force-measurement apparatus such as the surface force apparatus and atomic force microscopy. This transition was examined by a simple mean-field model of fluid confined within a slit-type pore, and semiquantitative assessment of the condensation distance was made.
