Abstract
The &ngr;6band of methyl chloride centered near 1018 cm-1has been recorded with a precise homemade Fourier transform spectrometer. About 5400 lines of this band have been assigned. The ground state constants for both isotopomers, CH335Cl and CH337Cl, were obtained from combination differences of the wavenumbers and the upper state constants were deduced from a least-squares fit procedure which permits reproduction of the observed wavenumbers with a standard deviation of 1.1 × 10-4cm-1, close to the experimental uncertainty.
