Abstract
This study had two objectives. First, using the California Q-set ( CAQ ), we attempted to identify the personality features that are associated with individual differences in sociosexuality (i.e., the extent to which people are willing to engage in uncommitted sexual relationships). A second goal was to explore whether unrestricted men and women have personalities that resemble profiles for the Cluster B personality disorders (i.e., narcissism, psychopathy, histrionic, and borderline). Findings indicated that both unrestricted women and men described themselves using the CAQ as, attractive and not ethically consistent. Additionally, unrestricted women described themselves as not being moralistic and to vary roles depending on the situation. Whereas, unrestricted men described themselves as irresponsible, unproductive, not warm, not anxious, and assertive. There were no significant relationships between unrestricted sociosexuality for women and any of the Cluster B profiles. However, relationships were demonstrated between unrestricted sociosexuality for men and narcissism and psychopathy.
