Abstract
The aim of this paper is to illustrate the possibility of simulating fluid-structure interactions by a lattice gas method. After a brief review of lattice gas hydrodynamics, this paper presents a method for evaluating the displacement of the nodes of the structure, the flow, and the technique used to link the two descriptions. The realization of the kinematics condition at the moving interface is explained in detail. The paper is concluded by two examples: free vibrations of a beam in a closed box filled with a fluid, and free vibrations of a beam in a channel flow.
