Abstract
Following a single exposure to x-rays at therapeutic dose-levels, alterations occur in the urinary excretion of three metabolites of tryptophan in man. In the 24 hours following exposure there is decreased excretion of indole acetic acid together with an enhanced excretion of 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid and indoxyl sulphate.
