Abstract

A simple ex vivo model has been developed using porcine large bowel. Various endoluminal procedures can be simulated and trained in this easy-to-use model. The main advantages are realistic human-bowel configuration and use of biological tissue simulating some of the bowel-wall properties. X-ray transparent materials were used for radiological-assisted procedures and the simple set-up allows multiple use.
