Abstract
Duosulciinae subfam. n. is proposed under Tylenchidae for species with only two incisures (or a single ridge) in the lateral field. Duosulcius gen. n. is erected for D. acutus from bush soil at Ibadan, Nigeria and the genus is characterized by a non-muscular, non-valvate median oesophageal bulb, a curved and strongly cuticularized vagina and no postvulval uterine sac. Zanenchus gen. n. is similar to Duosulcius but differs in having a muscular, valvate median oesophageal bulb. Zanenchus zanclus sp. n. (type-species) and Z. salmae sp. n. are described from Napier grass near Tembwe, Malawi and from horse chestnut soil at Luton, England, respectively. Neomalenchus gen. n. is similar to Malenchus but differs in having a non-muscular, non-valvate median oesophageal bulb. Neomalenchus ovalis sp. n. (type-species) and N. malawiensis sp. n. are described from chilli soil in Brunei and from Eucalyptus saligna soil in Cholo district, Malawi, respectively. Malenchus is differentiated from Ottolenchus. Ottolenchus parvus (Siddiqi, 1963) comb. n., Malenchus sulcus (Wu, 1970) comb. n. and M. fusiformis (Thorne & Malek, 1968) comb. n. are proposed. Malenchus nanellus sp. n. and M. tantulus sp. n. are described from maize soil at Ibadan, Nigeria and from tomato soil near Tembwe, Malawi, respectively.
