Abstract
Commission requires organizations to communicate the names of patients during an emergency. Yet many organizations struggle to find an effective way to do this during the chaos surrounding a disaster. This article recounts how Health First, Inc., an integrated health system located in Brevard County, Florida, developed a photo ID system for tagging unidentified victims. The photos are then sent to all the hospitals in the area, the medical examiner's office, and the local emergency management office to aid family members in locating their loved ones.
