Abstract

Polaritons are usually measured by using light scattering in nearly forward directions, because of the small magnitude of their wave vector k. A review of experimental arrangements is given by Claus. The purpose of this paper is to describe a simple optical setup, the concept of which has been known but not been applied to take full advantage of its potentially high degree of accuracy.
