Abstract
This paper will highlight how the Goleta West Sanitary District (GWSD) used an alternative comparison matrix to arrive at a solution for ragging at their main pump station caused mostly by new cleaning products being flushed down the toilet. The information presented is relative to the operation and maintenance of existing pump stations that require rehabilitation due to changes in cleaning materials disposal into sewers. GWSD has installed new pumps to eliminate the problems they have been facing at their main pump station.
