Abstract
A radial basis function (RBF) networks based approximate decoupling controller is proposed for the thyristor-controlled series compensation (TCSC) and governor in this paper. Based on a direct linearisation method from the input-output model of this coupled plant, the decoupling control law was derived directly using Taylor expansion approach and was implemented using RBF networks modelling. The robustness of the stability and the performance of a closed-loop system was established using Lyapunov method. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed decoupling controller.
