Abstract
Experimental results on investigation of angular characteristics of the 2nd and 3rd diffraction orders in the intermediate regime of acoustooptic interaction are presented. The experiments have confirmed unusual peculiarities of the characteristics predicted earlier on base of theoretical analysis [1]. It is established that for each order there is a number of optimal incidence angles of light which provide more effective scattering of light. In the case of isotropic diffraction the optimal angles depend on the acoustic frequency, whereas at anisotropic diffraction the angles are defined not only by the frequency, but also by optical anisotropy of the interaction medium.
