Abstract

Aalborg University was established in 1974 and has from a modest start reached a size of about 10,000 students. From the very beginning, the educational model has been problem-oriented and the main part of the study consists of working on projects in student groups of 3–7 members. This model has proved to be a favourable alternative to traditional educational models. As a new initiative the university is now offering international masters programmes in a range of specializations, as for example Acoustics.
