Abstract
Recent sedimentary environments and facies of the southern Kara Sea are described. Lithological, mineralogical, geochemical, and micropaleontological indicators are used to characterize the facies variability. Some mechanisms of mineralogical and geochemical differentiation, which contribute to the facies zonation, are revealed.
