Abstract

The effects of the concentration and nature of acridine derivatives on the pseudoselective and anodic dissolution of β-brass, also with unstable surface morphology, were studied for different potentials. The effects of the inhibitors on mass transfer in liquid and solid phases were compared for the process controlled by both diffusion and kinetics. Correlations between the inhibition factor and the wavelength of the longest-wavelength band in the electronic absorption spectra of the test inhibitors were obtained.
