Abstract

The effect of surfactants and the second ligand on the fluorescence properties of europium(III) binary chelates of ciprofloxacin and enrofloxacin is studied. It is shown that the fluorescence intensity of the europium chelates of antibiotics increases by a factor of 4 in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline and by a factor of 5 in sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate micelles. The detection limits for ciprofloxacin and enrofloxacin are 2.3 × 10−7 M. The developed procedures for determining antibiotics were officially tested on the pharmaceutical Ciprolet and blood serum.
