Abstract

Confirmation of the occurrence of Bryum minii Podp. in Portugal and Italy is provided and the morphological features to identify this species are outlined. A brief account of the history of B. minii in Portugal is discussed. The distribution map shows that it is a relatively widespread species in Portugal (19 10-km UTM squares) and the plant presents an oceanic Mediterranean affinity. The ecology and phytogeographic notes of this species are also discussed.
