Abstract

One of the principal commitments of the Survey of Kenya is the continuous routine production of Land Registry plans of African agricultural holdings. The properties are physically defined on the ground by perimeter hedges which form the legally accepted boundaries. The task is, therefore, one of identifying and mapping many hundreds of thousands of hedged boundaries. Mapping is carried out to plottable accuracy on a stable medium (astrafoil) at uniform scale of 1/2,500.
