Abstract
A transformation procedure based on a second order conformal formula is shown to give an improved fit compared with other simple methods. Although machine calculation is feasible, processing by small computer will facilitate testing of data by alternative solutions, and specifications for a survey designed to connect a local survey to UTM should ideally provide for a considerable number of redundant points.
