Abstract
What is the common link between watches, chocolates and finance? The most obvious answer is Switzerland; less obvious is Adec Robot, a young Swiss company based at Schlieren near Zurich. It has built robot systems for the watch industry and now has one going into the confectionary business. It also has an enviable financial record, with an anticipated turnover of SFr6 million for this year (likely to be exceeded), turnover having more than doubled in each of the last three years — it was SFr1.2 million in 1985.
