Abstract

Prednisolone in therapeutic concentrations blocks Ca2+ channels of lymphocyte plasma membranes and prevents arachidonic acid-induced Ca2+ entry into the cells. Glucocorticoid virtually did not modulate arachidonic acid-stimulated release of Ca2+ from intracellular stores. No appreciable effect of the hormone on mitogen-induced changes in the intracellular content of cAMP was detected.
