Abstract

The structure of the C20-diterpenoid alkaloid cordizine, which was isolated previously from Delphinium corymbosum, was discussed in detail. A scheme for the possible biosynthetic pathway of the lycoctonine precursor of C19-norditerpenoid bases was proposed based on the simultaneous occurrence in the plant of denudatine and lycoctonine.
