Abstract

The ignition of condensed materials by an electrical explosion is studied numerically. The effect of the wave process in the sample on its ignition characteristics is analyzed. Calculated values of the ignition time are given for various sample layouts, sample dimensions, and parameters of the initiating pulse. The effect of the hydrodynamic process caused by an electrical explosion in a condensed reactive material on the ignition period is studied.
