Abstract

The possibility of improving the dispersibility of Fenilon in water was examined. It was found that treatment of the fibre with AFK-10K and Butaphos K in the soft finishing stage allows manufacturing good quality paper without any process complications and eliminating the stage of additional application of a dispersing agent. The use of oiling and adhesive agents allows totally eliminating undispersed particles. In dispersion of a hydrophobic fibre, it is better to apply the dispersing agent by treating the fibre before cutting. OS-20 and Neonol-12 are effective dispersing agents. The dispersibility of the fibre is also improved when the water in paper mills is acidified.
