Abstract
A sandwich transducer simplified mathematical model based on the longitudinal variation of the particle displacement, is presented; the bounding media are ignored. A general equation is deduced in which the physical and geometrical characteristics of the three layers that form the transducer are included. Lastly a graphical representation of the general solution is shown as well as an universal abacus to provide a quick solution of the transducer equation.
