Abstract
A study is made of the sound field created by a disc with or without a finite rigid planar baffle and excited sinusoidally by an electromagnetic coil of a loudspeaker. The acoustic field is calculated approximately: the effect of the disc is characterised by the force which it exerts on the air, this force being related through the radiation impedance, to the supposed by known speed of the vibrating surface. The presence of the baffle is taken into consideration in the boundaries conditions. Theoretical and experimental results are compared.
