Abstract
A functional renormalization group method is applied in a study of the λ transition in bulk 4He. Renormalization group equations (flow equations) are derived and suitably simplified for a numerical analysis. It is discussed how the formalism bridges the gap between microscopic and macroscopic scales. First numerical results are presented.
