Abstract

The mechanism of relaxation of stresses in alloys with metastable structure is considered. It is shown that in intense development of phase and structural transformations in the relaxation process its kinetics is determined by the kinetics of the phase transformation leading with respect to the volume and intensity. A concept of structural mechanism of the relaxation is suggested, which in some cases is decisive for metastable alloys. Examples of stress relaxation in diffusion-free and diffusion phase transformations are presented.
