Abstract

Interpolyelectrolyte complexes (IPECs) between chitosan (CTS) and Eudragit L100 have been obtained and characterized by turbidimetry, viscometry, and elemental analysis. The structure of the synthesized IPECs was studied using IR spectroscopy. The IPEC composition (defined as the component ratio, [CTS]/[L100]) depends on the molecular weight of CTS and amounts approximately to 1: 1 for medium-and high-molecular-weight CTS and to 1.25: 1 for low-molecular-weight CTS.
