Abstract
A series of Rh/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by a sol-gel method, characterized by N2 physical adsorption, H2 chemisorption and FTIR, and studied in the hydrogenolysis of propane. The results show that rhodium exists in very high, nearly atomic dispersion in the catalysts after reduction; this was not obtained by conventional preparative methods.
