Abstract

The structure of CdBr2(C7H5N2CH2COPh)4 has been determined by X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in the tetragonal system, space group P4/N, with lattice parameters a = 14.904(3) Å, b = 14.904(3) Å, c = 11.817(2) Å, and Z = 2. The crystal structure consists of monomeric molecules of [CdBr2(C7H5N2CH2COPh)4] with distorted octahedron geometry for the CdBr2N4 chromophore. It is also characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum, electronic spectrum, and thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC).
