Abstract

Godunov’s sweeping method is applied for numerical solution of supersonic flow past axisymmetric and plane blunt-nosed bodies with a corner point on the contour. The Godunov method solutions are compared with “ benchmark” solutions, in which the flow field singularities (infinite pressure and density gradients at the corner point) are isolated using asymptotic solutions, and also with the experimental results of various authors. The study has shown that Godunov’s method ensures high accuracy for fluid-dynamic problems involving flow interaction with a barrier. The use of modern parallel computing technologies substantially improves the time requirements of the method.
