Abstract
Galvanostatic polarisation and kinetic studies of the corrosion of mild steel weld metal in 3%NaCl solution with allyl thiourea as inhibitor are reported. Corrosion potential, corrosion current, anodic and cathodic Tafel slopes, inhibition efficiency, heat of adsorption, and effective activation energy have been calculated from Evans curves at various temperatures. The results are compared with those from similar studies with unwelded specimens.
